Even if work goes south, exams end in failure, or life knocks you down flat — people gotta keep on living. The setting is a sea of trees notorious as a suicide hotspot. There, sightings often occur of a ghostly girl with golden hair, blue eyes, and a shotgun. Naomura Tatsuki, a former temp worker axed from his company who can't let go of his dream to become a school teacher, driven partly by morbid curiosity, visits the forest to meet this ghost girl — and make his fantasy of falling for her a reality. But what he finds there are suicide attempt survivors who couldn't die and ended up living.
