Fixers receive individual cases for investigations, but they aren't given special rights which causes constant conflicts with the police over legality of means used. Main character Neil Fox is a fixer who used to be a detective. He has an innate special ability "ecstasy borders" to see with the eyes of the criminal upon touching a corpse. Several prostitutes are killed in a chain, and Neil is given a request to investigate it. It's yet to know that the case is going to develop in a series of terrible murders.

Storyline:

In the city of "The Outside," which never sleeps, the government, overwhelmed by the surge in violent crime, created a profession called "fixers"—people who earned money by supplementing law enforcement. Their main job was to solve difficult cases at the unofficial request of the police. However, these fixers were not granted any special privileges and often resorted to illegal means, leading to intense friction with the police. The protagonist, Neil Fox, is a fixer who was once known as a shrewd detective. He possesses an innate special ability to transport himself into the "ecstatic state" that criminals experience while committing crimes, and he has used his experience as a former detective to solve countless difficult cases that the police have given up on. A third prostitute is murdered in a corner of "The Outside." The protagonist, hired by the police, uses his special abilities to discover that the killer is disguising each victim as a different woman. The police investigate the victims' relationships, while the protagonist pursues the woman being used as a stand-in. Eventually, the existence of this woman reveals the full story of the gruesome murders…
