A new hunter arrives at the Outpost, the last held town in the Ashen Reach, and is put to work by Warden Maros. Small troubles on the shore and in the fields turn out to share a cause, and the clues lead along the Warden's Road, past the people who hold the frontier together, to the Ossuary beneath the ridge, where the hunter must face what has been stirring there alone.
